I have a strong belief you can maximize your luck.
First, let's look at some definitions
Oxford n. success or failure apparently brought by chance rather than through one's own actions.
Wikipedia: **Luck** is the phenomenon and belief that defines the experience of notably positive, negative, or improbable events. The [naturalistic](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naturalism_(philosophy) "Naturalism (philosophy)") interpretation is that positive and negative events may happen all the time, both due to random and non-random natural and artificial processes, and that even improbable events can happen by [random chance](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_chance).
Merriam Webster n. a force that brings good fortune or [adversity](https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/adversity)
**:** to prosper or succeed especially through chance or good fortune —usually used with _out_the hero lucks out and is able to escape
2**:** to come upon something desirable by chance —usually used with _out, on, onto_, or _into_
there's a common theme here. chance. You can maximize your luck by giving it more chances to shower you with good fortune.
Common behavior from back when I was in college:
"oh I won't go to that networking event, no one's gonna give me a job anyway"
"won't go to that club meeting, it's boring"
"won't apply for that, won't get it anyway"
Very related to [[Don't count yourself out]].
Yes, in 99% of networking events and club meetings and applications, you will be unlucky. But you try 100 times, you'll get lucky once. You try 1000 times, you'll get lucky 10 times.
You can maximize luck via sheer volume.
But there's also positioning. Making sure you're in the right networking event, the right club meeting, or applying to the right job.
