Life is about those little moments that create a quietude in your soul.
In [[The Good Place]] season finale, while they are in Paris, Chidi tells Eleanor how he's ready to move on from the afterlife and the Good Place as they know it to whatever great unknown lies beyond. He has this feeling of "a quietude in his soul". Of being at peace.
Eleanor retorts that it might be fleeting. Chidi he insists that he's had it for a while now. He recounts the first time he felt it, one day when they were with their parents and Eleanor's mom kissed her and left lipstick on her cheek. Then Eleanor's mom wiped it off. In that moment he felt at peace. He has no idea why the calm chose that moment in time to wash over him, but it did.
For us non-tv humans, we may or may not have a Good Place waiting for us at the end of our lives. We may or may not have to make a choice to move on from it. We simply don't know.
What we do know we have is the present. How can we attain quietude in the soul in life?
